For a lot of families, life revolves around the TV, even during mealtimes. It has become normal for family members to spend their time separately in their own rooms; togetherness has become an outdated concept.
The same is true out in public.
We buy necessities like drinks and train tickets from vending machines, so we can get by without ever having to engage in conversation.
When we do speak, it is to ourselves, or simply to put someone down.
At the core of Rotary International is the idea of vocational service: sharing information based on our profession.

Recognizing and respecting each other, and choosing our words with care. That is the meaning of "Let's Talk".
That is how Rotary friendships take root; it is the foundation of an unbreakable bond.
